I Made It Myself

My first project and my first blog, yay!

I found this recipe while I was searching for ideas for a New Years resolution. What I found was the inspiration to get my creativity and good enery flowing. Thank you From Scratch for being my catalyst!

Ginger Ale is one of my all time fave beverages, I will spend $5 on a four pack of the good kind made with real ginger and real sugar. After picking my girls up from school yesterday, we hit the grocery store to get or ingrediants. I spent $10 on everthing.

Here are your ingredients

Syrup
1/3 cup grated ginger root (I wasn't sure how much would make 1/3 cup, I ended up with .26lb and that was just enough)
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup water
Simmer in a sauce pan for about 10 minutes, strain the syrup into a jar, and cool.
After this step, you are left with a mass of tasty sweetend ginger. I decided to stick that in a container and refridgerate to use for another recipe.

Final Product
Pour 1 part ginger syrup into a glass and add  2 parts club soda
Garnish with your choise of fruits, candies, umbrellas, etc. We used sliced lemon and blackberries.

Delish!

This is a kick ass recipe, and next time I will make a larger batch.
